About the NuclearSerbia Project

The national energy policy of the Republic of Serbia is undergoing a period of fundamental structural transformation, driven by the need to ensure energy security and meet climate commitments.

The revival of the peaceful use of nuclear energy in the Republic of Serbia is marked by a significant institutional shift aimed at rectifying long-term political decisions made in the past. This decision is regarded not simply as an energy issue but also as a fundamental question of the sovereignty and independence of the state, as investments in this sector are crucial.

The development of nuclear energy involves not only the construction of complex engineering facilities but also the creation of a multi-tiered system for management, regulation, and safety. For Serbia, which is returning to this industry after a 35-year hiatus, the task is particularly urgent. The country must not only acquire technology but also quickly establish a comprehensive ecosystem that includes a legal framework, qualified personnel, and an industrial base.

The Main Goal of the NuclearSerbia Website: Creating a Digital Platform for the National Nuclear Ecosystem.

Serbia is pursuing a multi-vector hedging strategy, actively negotiating with leading global vendors (Russia, South Korea, France) to attract financing and technologies, creating a unique need for a neutral, technically competent information environment.

The creation of a digital platform such as "NUCLEAR SERBIA" (nuclearserbia.rs) is a response to this need and becomes a strategically important tool, positioned as a neutral bridge (including through trilingualism in Russian, English, and Serbian) aimed at:

  1. Acting as a thought leader: Publishing curated analytical content (VIEWS) that connects global nuclear trends with current energy policies of Serbia and the Balkan region.
  2. Serving as a knowledge center: Providing access to catalogs of regulatory documents, guidelines, and training materials (KNOWLEDGE CENTRE) necessary for the implementation of complex cross-border multi-regulatory projects in the nuclear sector.

The "NUCLEAR SERBIA" project (nuclearserbia.rs) occupies a unique and strategically important position in the emerging nuclear landscape of Serbia and serves as the first of its kind digital platform in Serbia and possibly in Southeast Europe, aimed at consolidating information and expert opinions in this strategically vital sector, fostering a favorable political and public environment after the lifting of the moratorium on the construction of nuclear power plants, and generating leads for high-margin technical consulting services.

01

Creation of the Ecosystem

We are creating an intellectual and expert environment (ecosystem) in which national players — research institutes, industry, regulators, and personnel — can fill the "academic gap".

02

Ensuring Competitiveness

We provide Serbian businesses with knowledge and experience, increasing their competitiveness and creating effective processes for successful collaboration, thereby enabling their participation in global nuclear projects.

03

Key method

This is achieved through in-depth analysis and improvement of one's own production, personnel, and research base of economic entities for a complete understanding and readiness to comply with strict industry requirements and conditions of the external environment.

Our mission is to assist in the creation of an ecosystem, in which local national players gain access to global atomic projects through in-depth analysis of the creation of Nuclear Energy Utilization Objects, understanding its fundamentals, specifics, and technologies, as well as comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the entire Atomic industry as an external environment.

The design and implementation of the national nuclear energy program (NPP) is a comprehensive and long-term task that requires coordinated efforts from a wide range of state, regulatory, and private structures. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has developed the "Milestones Approach," outlined in the publication IAEA Nuclear Energy Series No. NG-G-3.1 (Rev. 1), Milestones in the Development of a National Infrastructure for Nuclear Power. This methodology provides a structured framework to ensure that the Republic of Serbia develops the necessary national infrastructure for nuclear power in stages.
