A meeting was held at the Kazakhstan Agency for Atomic Energy with a delegation from the U.S. State Department led by Christopher Klein.
Kazakhstan and the U.S. discussed the development of cooperation in the global use of atomic energy.
This was reported on Thursday, April 16, by the official channel of the Atomic Energy Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Telegram.
The meeting took place with a delegation from the U.S. State Department led by the Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Arms Control and Nonproliferation Christopher Klein.
From the Kazakh side, the meeting was attended by the deputies of the chairman of the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency for Atomic Energy, Timur Zhanty and Aset Makhametov, as well as representatives from the agency's industry departments and JSC "KazAtomProm."
The participants discussed issues related to the development of Kazakhstan-U.S. cooperation in the global use of atomic energy. Mutual interest in strengthening bilateral partnership and expanding practical interaction was confirmed.
The discussion covered prospects for deepening cooperation, exchanging expert recommendations, and developing institutional ties. The parties noted the progressive transformation in the context of changes in the global market and the increasing role of sustainable energy sources.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed readiness to continue a constructive dialogue and prospective expansion of cooperation aimed at developing the atomic industry and strengthening bilateral partnership.
