New data has been released on the construction progress of the Rupur nuclear power plant in Bangladesh.

The cost of the two-unit NPP "Ruppur" (Bangladesh) will be about 1.39 trillion Bangladeshi takas, which is approximately equivalent to 11.4 billion dollars.

According to information from the Daily Star newspaper, this amount was presented to the executive committee of the National Economic Council of Bangladesh for approval.

The newspaper also reports that fuel loading into the reactor core of the first power unit may occur in late February 2026. The physical launch of the first unit may take place in April 2026, and connection to the grid is expected in mid-2026.

However, the timelines depend on the successful completion of ongoing tests and equipment inspections at the unit.
