European Component Database of Russian VVER-1200 Projects
The VVER-1200 reactor project (AES-2006) represents a key development of the State Corporation Rosatom in the Gen III+ reactor segment. This type of reactor is characterized by increased electrical power (about 1200 MW), a service life extended to 60 years, and includes a complex of active and passive safety systems capable of withstanding external impacts, such as earthquakes and aircraft impacts.1 The VVER-1200 is Russia's main export offering, implemented under EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and BOO (Build-Own-Operate) models.
